The Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Qatar participated in the 2026 Assembly of the Official Spanish Chambers of Commerce Abroad (CAMACOES), held in Madrid from 7 to 9 July 2026. The event brought together representatives from the network of Spanish Chambers of Commerce Abroad, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, territorial Chambers and institutions involved in supporting the internationalisation of Spanish companies.

The Chamber was represented by its Vice President, Santiago Bañales, and Secretary General, Josefa Sandoval, who took part in the different working sessions, institutional meetings and networking opportunities throughout the event.

The first working day took place at the Secretariat of State for Trade, within the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, and addressed key topics for international business, including the current geoeconomic context, public instruments supporting internationalisation and the framework for the support and supervision of Spanish Chambers of Commerce Abroad. The programme included representatives from institutions such as ICEX, CESCE, COFIDES and ICO, among others.

The following sessions, held at the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, focused on the future challenges facing Spanish Chambers abroad and on strengthening the Chamber network in the current international environment. Discussions covered areas such as good governance, international cooperation within the Chamber network, collaborative tools and projects, and opportunities for greater cooperation between CAMACOES and Spain’s territorial Chambers.

The programme also featured several panel discussions in which Spanish Chambers from different countries shared best practices in business services, collective initiatives, cooperation with institutions and governments, and participation in European, multilateral and international projects. These sessions provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and explore new ways to strengthen support for Spanish companies in their internationalisation processes.

The Assembly concluded with a networking session between CAMACOES and the territorial Chambers, including a series of meetings aimed at fostering new connections and opportunities for collaboration across the Chamber network.

The participation of the Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Qatar in this annual gathering reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the network of Spanish Chambers abroad and creating new opportunities for cooperation, while continuing to promote internationalisation and strengthen economic and business relations between Spain and Qatar.
