Doha, October 12, 2025 – The Embassy of Spain in Qatar, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Qatar, celebrated Spanish National Day with a reception held at Raffles Doha. The event brought together distinguished guests from the Qatari government, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and representatives of the Spanish community to commemorate the strong and growing ties between Spain and Qatar.
In his remarks, H.E. Dr. Álvaro Renedo Zalba, Ambassador of Spain to Qatar, highlighted the deep friendship and shared values that unite both nations. He emphasized the continued collaboration between Spain and Qatar in areas such as culture, education, sports, and economic development, as well as the growing role of Spanish companies in Qatar’s ambitious development projects.
The celebration featured a vibrant cultural program that showcased Spain’s rich artistic and culinary heritage. Guests enjoyed a flamenco performance by dancer Rocío Cuello, a moving artistic presentation by students from SEK International School Doha, and an exquisite gastronomic experience prepared by Spanish chefs Juan José San Bartolomé, Daniel Giraltel, and Silvia Ferré, renowned for their excellence in Mediterranean cuisine.
Ambassador Renedo Zalba also underlined the importance of the Spanish community and business presence in Qatar, noting how both countries continue to strengthen cooperation in key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, innovation, and education. He described the relationship between Spain and Qatar as “a partnership built on mutual respect, cultural understanding, and a shared vision for progress.”
